It’s been a bit of a dark week for the Cheetah Keeper’s mummy – I feel a bit like the snail in Julia Donaldson‘s The Snail & The Whale – “the snail felt hopeless and terribly small”…
On Saturday night the snow started falling. I am terrified of snow. The risks of falling and what might happen if I did overwhelm me. I worry about what may happen if the children fall awkwardly. However, as I wrapped the children up on Sunday morning I realised I wanted to photograph the fun that they were having. So, I put on my wellies, wrapped up and went out. Into crunchy, perfect snowman/snowball snow. And instead of taking 3 pictures and heading back in again, I stayed out – for snowball fights, photos and general silliness. All 4 of us, out there, together. Then we went sledging! Not big sledging, but I went out and walked down the hill (and took loads of pictures) with my family. I crunched through the snow where I couldn’t slip – we had fun, we went home and we drank hot chocolate with excessive quantities of marshmallows and squirty cream.
So, here are my photos, that I took, of what terrifies me. It was beautiful.
Many apologies for the linky not working quite as it should last week – changes have been made! So, please link up your beautiful words, pictures, creations or acquisitions – and share what you think is beautiful with the rest of us
